Made out of high-quality Tärnsjö leather used for equestrian reins and saddlery, Lisa Hilland wanted to create a braided structure, with the braiding itself creating an ornamental, centered pattern suspended in the air. Though the process of craft is complex, with braiding done by skilled saddle makers and craftsmen at Tärnsjö – the result is a light and naturally organic design piece.
The name Pirouette is taken from one of the most difficult movements in horse dressage: A skill taking years to master where the horse centers its energy turning around its hind legs, creating a circular pattern of motion – reflected in the designs.
